In a city with a rapidly growing nightlife and entertainment scene, creating an event that people genuinely remember is no easy feat. For Leicester-based event producer Collins Ayemere Enato, however, it has become something of a speciality.
Over recent years, Collins has established himself as one of the creative minds behind some of Leicester’s biggest urban entertainment events, working with clubs, venues and artists to bring high-profile performances to the city.
From packed club nights to headline performances, his events have featured some of the biggest names in the city's music scene, helping to create a bridge between Leicester’s local talent and the wider UK entertainment industry.
“I’ve always loved the energy of a great event,” Collins says. “It’s not just about getting an artist on stage. It’s about creating an experience that people are going to talk about afterwards.”
That approach has become central to his work. Rather than simply organising performances, Collins focuses on the full experience, from artist bookings and venue relationships to promotion, production and audience engagement.
His work also reflects Leicester’s changing cultural landscape. With the city home to a young, diverse and increasingly influential creative community, Collins believes there is huge potential for Leicester to become an even bigger destination for entertainment.
“There’s so much talent here,” he explains. “Leicester doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves, but the audience is here, the artists are here and the appetite for big events is definitely here.”
As his portfolio continues to grow, Collins is looking beyond individual club nights and towards bigger productions, collaborations and opportunities that can put Leicester further on the map.
For now, though, his formula remains relatively simple: bring great artists to great venues, create an atmosphere people want to be part of, and keep giving Leicester something to talk about.
And judging by the crowds, people are certainly listening.
